Print guide

Getting a clean print

Every kit includes a guide written for your exact design. Here is the short version, plus slicer tips for multi-color and single-nozzle printers.

The files in your kit

FileUse it when
design-color.3mfYou have an AMS, MMU, toolchanger or any multi-material setup
design-single-color.stlYou print in one color, or swap filament by layer height
parts/*.stlYour slicer wants each color as its own STL (load them together so they stay lined up)
PRINT-GUIDE.txtYou want the exact sizes and filament-change heights for this design

Print at 100% scale. Chain openings and wall thickness are sized in real millimeters.

Multi-color printers

Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer

  1. Open the .3mf file. If the slicer asks whether to load it as a single object with multiple parts, choose Yes.
  2. If the parts arrive as separate objects, select them all, right-click and choose Assemble.
  3. Assign a filament to each part in the object list, then slice.

PrusaSlicer

  1. Import the STLs from the parts folder all at once. When asked to load them as a single object with multiple parts, choose Yes.
  2. Set an extruder for each part.

Cura

Load the part STLs, assign each to an extruder, select them all and use Merge models so they keep their positions.

Single-nozzle color swaps

Hype chain pendants are built as stacked flat layers — backing, pop outline, then lettering. That means you can get a multi-color pendant on any printer by pausing for a filament change at each layer height.

  1. Slice the single-color STL at 0.2 mm layers.
  2. Add a filament change at the first layer above the backing height, and again above the pop-outline height. Your kit's PRINT-GUIDE.txt lists the exact heights.

Trays work the same way for raised artwork, though everything above the floor height — including the walls — switches color.

Artwork tips

  • PNGs with a transparent background trace the cleanest. The studio uses the transparency as the shape.
  • For JPGs, the studio keeps everything darker than the Threshold setting. Raise it to include lighter colors, or use Invert for light art on a dark background.
  • Bold, filled shapes print best. Thin lines under about 1 mm and tiny specks are hard to print — raise Clean up to remove them.
  • Uploaded artwork prints as one color. For multi-color logos, use the hype chain's pop-outline layer for a second color.
